Dear Maple Village Families,
With the first days of school complete, I believe the word of the week was Courage.
Many parents showed courage when dropping off their preschoolers for the first time.
Many children showed courage saying farewell to their parents during their first school experience.
Children showed courage walking over The Rainbow Bridge from Kindergarten to First Grade.
Other children showed courage coming to a new school from a previous one and making new friends.
Our teachers showed courage to stand in front of their classes once more or stand in a totally new role.
Our administration showed courage testing all their new processes on real humans.
A wonderful grandma showed courage in whispering to me on the very first morning on the sidewalk that my shirt was on inside out…
After a summer of working with only adults (and wonderful ones at that!), I can say it was SO incredible to have all of your children back at school again! I missed their laughter, smiles, inquisitive minds, sense of humor, and their bright energy. Thank you for sharing them!
Thank you all for getting your students to school on time and parking safely. We had very few tardies, and it is wonderful way to support your children by getting them to the party on time.
Parent/Toddler and Me & My Baby Class start next week. We still have openings, so please spread the word about this endearing program!
I look forward to seeing you all at our Stargazing Concert tomorrow at 5:00 at Marine Stadium! (see below for details) Bring your picnic dinners, blankets and relax while we entertain you.

Parent Village Meeting
Food, Fun, Friends and Free Childcare - Don’t Miss It!
We are so excited for the first Parent Village meeting:
Thursday, Sept. 13. 6-7:30 pm
Please join us and earn 1 volunteer credit. Two hours of free Childcare will be provided. *Call or email the office by Wed. to reserve childcare which will run 6-8 pm for an extra half hour after the meeting for time to socialize.

Parent/Toddler Fall Session
We still have spots available in the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday classes for our fall session of Parent/Toddler! If you or someone you know would be interested, please contact Alice ASAP. This program usually has a waitlist, so now is the time to join! Here are the session details:
Tuesday, Wednesday*, Thursday, or Friday
9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
First Day: September 11/12/13/14
Last Day: November 6/7/8/9
Cost: $295, all fees included
*Wednesday class will continue to be an outdoor class at Mae Boyar Park in Lakewood. All other classes are held on the MVWS campus.
We also offer a discount for registering for the whole upcoming school year! Families have the option to register for all three Parent/Toddler sessions upfront for $810, guaranteeing your spot on the day of your choice for Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions. You will save $75 on registration fees and also receive half off our Preschool application fee ($50, down from $100), for a total savings of $125. Otherwise, registering for each session individually will be $295 per session.
Spots in each of the classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Me & My Baby Fall Session
Ms. Francesca will be leading a new session of Me & My Baby classes this fall! Spots are still available; please help us get the word out to parents of babies aged 6-16 months.
Me & My Baby is a 9-week class designed for both of you – a unique opportunity to meet other parents/caregivers at this incredible time in your baby’s life. Drawing inspiration from many sources including RIE and Waldorf, Me & My Baby offers a place to connect, observe your child’s growth, and discuss child development and parenting in a warm, supportive environment. Come meet us once a week, share your joys and frustrations, and celebrate the journey together. This class is for babies 6 – 16 months old and their parent or caregiver.
Thursdays, 12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Fall 2018 Session: September 13th – November 8th
Tuition: $225 total per 9-week session

Adult Classes with Sebastien Dupuis
Thursdays: September 20 - November 1 (7 weeks)
1:15-2:25 Eurythmy
Why do we do Eurythmy in Waldorf schools? Come experience live music and poetry through flowing movement with others. An introduction to the new art of speech and tone eurythmy.
2:30-4:00 Anthroposophical Study
Through observation, practical exercises and study we will explore how Anthroposophy (the philosophy at the source of Waldorf education) can help us acquire a deeper experience of the social question, liberty of thought, and a knowledge of the spiritual nature of the human being.
Please sign up in the MVWS office (participant minimum 4, maximum 16).
You may drop in to individual classes ($10 each) or register for both classes for all 7 weeks ($100). Cash or checks (made out to Sebastien Dupuis) are accepted.
