Letter from our Dean
Dear Maple Village Community,
As we start walking through May, we are looking toward the next school year in many ways, including improving programming.  The Pedagogical Committee has been reflecting on our weekly schedule.  As you know, our days have been scheduled to end at 1:00 on Wednesdays to facilitate weekly faculty meetings.  With the growth of our curriculum and the need to stagger dismissal, we feel it is important to adjust our weekly schedule a bit next year to allow for one more lesson period.
For the 2018-2019 school year, our Wednesday dismissal schedule will be:
  • Preschool and Kindergarten will release at 1:15 as a normal day, supporting consistency.
  • Grades 1-8 will all release at 1:45, enabling them to have one more lesson period.
Thank you to our Gala Committee for everything they are doing to make our May 18th Gala so amazing!!  Did you know we are able to enter through the museum this year and spend time there before entering the beautiful sculpture garden?  I, for one, am very excited about celebrating our 10-year anniversary this way.  Plus, the theme of Enchanted Garden has enabled me to wear a repurposed fancy flowered tablecloth. ;-)  Please go to to find all the details you need and purchase tickets!
This month, Discussion with the Dean will be Friday, May 11th from 10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. (note the different time).
Please bring your questions about Waldorf philosophy and how it can help you be the parent you want to be
This is adults-only, and RSVPs are helpful, but not necessary.  Bring your favorite beverage and an inquiring mind!
With gratitude for all of you,
State of Our School Presentation
Thanks to everyone who came to our State of Our School presentation on April 25th. We had a good turnout and shared lots of information about what we have accomplished in the last year and where we want to go in the next year. If you were not able to attend, you can download a copy of the presentation below. And if you have any questions or comments you can always reach out to the Board of Trustees at:

MVWS Store - Items of the Week!

This week’s featured items from our school store are hand made soaps from Sacred Waters and our metal drinking cups.  The three different soap scents offered are Vanilla Dream, Big Sky, and Orange Bay.  Each bar is selling for $6.  Our drinking cups come in small and large sizes.  The small cup is now $5 and large cup is $6.

We welcome you to come in and shop our school store in the Grove Room.

Thank you for your support!

The Manzanta 4th grade class has come to the last day of Norse Mythology for the year. They were very sad about Ragnarokk and the destiny of the Goddesses & Gods, but we must carry on!

Parent Village

Hi Villagers - the Gala is quickly approaching and there is some incredible stuff up for grabs this year.  Here are a few things we want you to keep in mind (More info is available
DESSERT is scarce - start planning with your table now
* People are already preparing to bid on the McCARTHY DINNER - this is going to be a fierce competition - see the attached sheet for more info and get ready to BID
* Credit Cards will be accepted this year for all purchases (bar tickets, auction items, etc.) but the school incurs a fee for every transaction so CASH or CHECK are always preferred (and cash tips for bartenders)
